CIUDAD AL RIO

¨Ciudad al rio¨ is an urban project that aims to connect the City of Buenos Aires to the river. The area of interest contains the UBA University campus, River Plate Stadium, a series of sport clubs, Belgrano C train station, Leopoldo Lugones Avenue and the residential area of Nunez. The problem that is facing the area is that the site is divided by the Leopoldo Lugones Avenue, making it impossible to cross the city walking from the residential area to the coast.

The project consists of building a new underground highway and elevating the train rails to generate a linear park that eradicates the urban barrier. The park incorporates green in the site and generates areas for interpersonal exchange. To generate mixture of uses the idea is to incorporate student residences and a commercial area in the University campus in order to increase the time frame of use.
